CCBC x AISSN Social Security Online Event – Save the Date!

Wednesday 4th June 11.30am – online

The Centre for Cross Border Co-operation is currently hosting a range of webinars examining issues faced by cross-border workers and employers following on from a significant research project (linked) which found numerous barriers to the smooth operation of the all-island labour market which have implications for individuals and businesses across this island but particularly those in border regions.

The All-Island Social Security Network will be coming together with the Centre for Cross Border Co-operation to host one of these webinars focussing on the social security implications of cross-border working. This webinar will include a brief introduction of the issues found in the study but perhaps most importantly will allow time for social security advisors and those working in this space North and South to discuss the challenges they face on a daily basis.

The Centre for Cross Border Co-operation is an independent cross-border think tank. The work of the centre is framed by the commitment to cross-border cooperation that is integral to the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement, and they have a specific and unique role in contributing to the increased social, economic and territorial cohesion of the island of Ireland.

The All-Island Social Security Network (AISSN) brings together researchers to imagine a new future for social security on the island of Ireland. The network is made up of researchers from academia and civil society to examine, understand, map-out, explore, disseminate, consider, share and promote knowledge and understanding about the social security system in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The link for registration is available here, and we hope to see you there.
